This Privacy Notice explains what information we collect when you visit Worng Gazette, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have about it. Last updated on 14 May 2026.

The Worng Gazette is an independent Canadian editorial project published from Toronto, Ontario. You can reach us at hello@activemorning.net or by post at Suite 412, 88 Front Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5J 1G6, Canada.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information: information you give us, and information your browser gives our server automatically.

2.1 Information You Give Us

• First name — used to address you in newsletters.
• Email address — used to deliver the newsletter you signed up for.
• Phone number (optional) — only used if you ask us to call you back.
• Message text — if you write to us using the contact form.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Your IP address (used to estimate region and to prevent abuse).
• Your browser type and version.
• The pages you visit and how long you stay on each one (if you consented to analytics cookies).

3. Why We Collect It

We collect this information to deliver the newsletter you asked for, to reply to your messages, to keep the site functioning, and to understand how the gazette is being read.

4. How Long We Keep It

Newsletter contact details are retained for as long as you remain subscribed and for one year after unsubscription. Messages sent to us through the contact form are kept for two years from the date received. Analytics data is anonymised and retained for fourteen months.

5. Lawful Basis

We process your personal data based on your consent, on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the gazette, and on our legal obligations under applicable Canadian and international privacy law.

6. Cookies

We use cookies. A full description of which cookies we use and how to change your preferences is provided on our Cookie Notice page. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking “Customize” on the cookie bar that appears at the bottom of the site.

7. Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the small set of service providers we use to operate the gazette: an email delivery provider for the newsletter, an analytics provider if you have consented, and our hosting provider. Each of these is bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

The gazette is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of sixteen.

Some of our service providers operate outside Canada. Where this is the case, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data, including contractual clauses approved by relevant data-protection authorities.

We may update this notice from time to time. Any material change will be announced at the top of this page, and where appropriate, by email to subscribers.
