Cookie Notice
This Cookie Notice explains how the Worng Gazette uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. Last updated on 14 May 2026.
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in to subscriptions, and understand how the site is being used. They cannot run programs on your device and cannot read other files on your computer.
2. The Three Categories We Use
2.1 Necessary Cookies
Necessary cookies make the site function. They remember your cookie preferences, keep your newsletter subscription session active during sign-up, and ensure that forms submit properly. These cookies are always on. They are required for the gazette to work, and you cannot disable them without breaking the site.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies tell us, in anonymised form, which pages are read most, how long visitors stay, and whether they return. We use this information to make editorial decisions, such as which topics to revisit and which page layouts to refine. Analytics cookies are off by default. You can turn them on at any time by clicking “Customize” in the cookie bar.
2.3 Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies allow us, very modestly, to tailor recommendations within the gazette and to measure the effectiveness of any future promotional activity. Marketing cookies are off by default. We do not currently run external advertising campaigns, but we reserve the right to do so in the future, and these cookies would support that activity.
3. How to Change Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- Click the “Customize” button on the cookie bar at the bottom of the page.
- Toggle the categories you wish to enable or disable.
- Click “Save preferences” to apply your choices.
Your choices are stored in a small cookie on your device for one hundred and eighty days. After that, the cookie bar will reappear and you can review your preferences again.
4. How to Disable Cookies in Your Browser
Every modern browser allows you to block or delete cookies at the browser level. Please consult the help section of your browser for instructions. Note that disabling all cookies may prevent parts of the gazette from working properly.
5. Cookies We Set
- Activemorning_consent — stores your category preferences for one hundred and eighty days.
- Activemorning_session — keeps form submissions working during your visit.
6. Third-Party Cookies
If you consent to analytics cookies, our analytics provider may set its own cookies on your device. These are governed by the analytics provider’s own privacy policy. We do not allow our analytics provider to associate your browsing on this site with any other data they may hold.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. The Worng Gazette respects this signal where technically possible: if your browser sends a Do Not Track header, we consider that an implicit refusal of analytics and marketing cookies, unless you have specifically opted in.
8. Updates to This Notice
We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
